Natural Stone

Granite
Granite is by far the most popular choice for natural stone countertops. It is one of the hardest and most durable materials available, very stain resistant, and there are several hundred colors to choose from.  Granite is very easy to maintain and clean and it will last a lifetime, giving you many years of enjoyment.

Soapstone
Soapstone is usually light gray in color and gets darker as it ages while it goes through an oxidation process. It is sealed with mineral oil or a wax specifically made for soapstone. Abrasive cleaners are not recommended for soapstone countertops. If you are looking foran aged, or weathered look, soapstone may be the natural stone you are looking for.

Limestone
Limestone can offer you a very unique and interesting look. We do not recommend this material for kitchen countertops or bathroom vanities. It is the softest natural stone we use and is the easiest to stain or scratch.

Travertine
Travertine is very popular for bathroom vanity and flooring applications. Travertine is a very porous material and requires filling in most applications. It sometimes contains fossils or fossil imprints.

Marble
Marble is a very popular material, one of the most beautiful stones there is, but not quite as hard as granite. It can be prone to staining, but with proper care and maintenance, it can be used in most applications.

Onyx
Onyx has bands of color running throughout the stone giving it very unique color characteristics. Onyx has a shiny and reflective surface bringing out color contrasts in the stone.  It is a softer stone and best used where it will not be used frequently. It can be prone to etching and staining from acidic materials such as ketchup, citrus fruits, household cleaners, etc. It is translucent and can be backlit.  Great for bar and bathroom applications.
